2009 GENERAL RULES FOR COMPETITORS
**PLEASE NOTE RULE CHANGES BELOW FOR THE GAMBLERS RACE EVENT**
- All vehicles must be 4WD.
- All competitors must be members of the Skunk Bottom Mud Bog Competitors Association. Annual fee for membership is $10; this fee goes straight to track insurance costs. Members receive a free Skunk Bottom T-shirt.
- All competitors must be competent to operate and compete with the vehicle. Any competitor under the age of 18 must provide a signed parental consent waiver to be kept on file by event officials. Competitors must be prepared to offer proof of age before entering any event. Insurance regulations prohibit competitors under the age of 16.
- Multiple drivers per class using the same vehicle will be allowed.
- DOT approved helmets must be worn and properly fastened. Eye protection required in open cockpit vehicles.
- Drivers must wear minimum long pants and short sleeves in open cockpit vehicles (for example: Jeeps without tops and doors)
- Fire suits and neck braces recommended.
- Seat belts or harness required.
- No drinking of alcohol in the pit area.
- Use of drugs or alcohol by any competitor during the event is prohibited. The competitor will forfeit all fees, be banned from the event, and will be escorted from the grounds immediately.
- Speed limit while on the grounds is 5 mph. NO EXCEPTIONS or EXCUSES. Vehicles must be operated in a safe manner at all times.
- Vehicles deemed "unsafe" at tech inspection will not be allowed to run unless corrections are made and the vehicle passes a second tech inspection.
- No competition vehicle is permitted to have its engine running without a driver behind the wheel.
- Pills will be pulled to determine driver race order for each class.
- The driver or a representative of his crew MUST attend the drivers meeting.
- Racing order of classes will be announced at the drivers meeting.
- There will be no refunds within a class once racing begins in that class.
- Bump ups will be allowed from any class.
- Delays at the starting line for repairs will be limited to 5 minutes.
- 10-Second Rule--Any competitor entering the pit and losing forward momentum (for example, engine stalling or gear changing or hitting mud wall) will have one 10-second period to get the vehicle moving forward in an attempt to complete the pass. If forward momentum is not achieved within 10 seconds, the competitor's time and distance will be calculated, ending the pass. Competitors capable of regaining forward momentum within the 10 seconds may continue their pass and attempt a full pull. If full pull is not achieved, time and distance will be calculated based on where vehicle stops the second time. Only one (1) 10-second allowance permitted per pass.
- Distance of run will be measured to the center of the front axle.
- Pass must be made within the pit; NO WALL CLIMBING!
- "First Runs Fifth" Option--The driver pulling the first position in any regular event class has the option to discard the results of his first pass and then to assume the fifth racing position within that same class. First position drivers MUST make the first position pass--no staging and backing out permitted.
- Rear hook point required. All vehicles will be hooked to the cable before entering the pit. Drivers refusing the cable will be required to attach the cable themselves mid-pit, should they fail to complete their pass.
- Decisions of track officials regarding any matters are final.
- Rules may be added or modified in the future by track officials as deemed necessary. Drivers will be notified of these rule changes at the drivers meeting. Any rule changes will be placed in print and will be handed out at the next event.
GAMBLERS RACE RULES
**PLEASE NOTE RULE CHANGES BELOW FOR THE GAMBLERS RACE EVENT**
- All Gamblers Race events will be run after the regular racing program has concluded for the day.
- General rules for competitors as listed above for regular class racing will also apply. Details specific to the Gamblers Race events follow below.
- Competitors for this event must be members of the Skunk Bottom Mud Bog Competitors Association, and must have registered and competed in a regular class event earlier the same day.
- There will be two separate Gamblers Race events (with a minimum registration required to hold each class event)--one for all Open Class competitors (minimum 6 drivers), and one for A through E Class competitors (minimum 6 drivers).
- Each driver is required to pay a $5.00 registration fee per class. For example, one driver competing in the A through E Class may also wish to bump up to the Open Class and run a second event. This driver would pay two (2) $5.00 fees, one for each class. (Please note: Open Class vehicles may not "bump down" to join the A through E Class.) All driver registration money for each class will be ADDED TO ANY BONUS MONEY posted for that class.
- Multiple drivers per class using the same vehicle will be allowed. Each driver is required to pay a $5.00 registration fee per class entered.
- An additional tech inspection is required for all vehicles before the Gamblers Race events. Vehicles deemed "unsafe" at tech inspection will not be allowed to run. Decisions of track officials regarding any matters are final.
- New pills will be pulled to determine ACTUAL driver race order for each Gamblers event (that means, no "First Runs Fifth" option).
- The field of drivers for each race will run through the pit once, in exact order as determined by pills. Winner of each class will be the driver with the fastest full-pull time or the furthest distance in the pit.
- The overall winner in the Open Class event takes the entire purse for that class ("Winner Takes All"), and the overall winner in the A through E Class event takes the entire purse for that class ("Winner Takes All").
